- FPT Telecom is looking for a Software Engineer – CPE Firmware (DPI) to join the team developing next-generation networking firmware for Customer Premises Equipment. This role focuses on building and optimizing high-performance Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions on embedded Linux platforms, enabling advanced traffic analysis and intelligent network management for Wi-Fi 6/7 devices.
- You will work across kernel and userspace, leveraging technologies such as netfilter, eBPF/XDP, and traffic control to deliver low-latency, high-throughput packet processing. The role involves performance tuning, system-level debugging, and close collaboration with wireless, hardware, AI, and security teams to ensure robust and scalable firmware solutions.
- This is a hands-on engineering position at the intersection of embedded Linux, networking, and real-world CPE deployment.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) modules running on Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) devices.
- Implement and maintain Linux kernel drivers, netfilter hooks, eBPF/XDP, and userspace DPI components.
- Contribute to high-throughput, low-latency DPI solutions for Wi-Fi 6/7 CPE, focusing on performance, stability, and power efficiency.
- Develop automation scripts (Python or similar) for DPI validation, performance benchmarking, and regression testing on target CPE devices.
- Perform debugging and root-cause analysis of complex firmware and networking issues using relevant tools.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement of firmware quality.
- Collaborate with hardware, wireless, AI, and security teams to ensure seamless DPI integration and system stability.
YÊU CẦU CÔNG VIỆC
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded Linux firmware or wireless networking development.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded Linux systems.
- Good understanding of Linux kernel networking (netfilter, eBPF/XDP, Traffic Control (TC)) and basic protocol dissection.
- Solid foundation in TCP/IP, QoS, VLAN, routing, and embedded Linux systems.
- Experience with debugging tools (gdb, perf, ftrace), Git, and basic testing practices.
- English communication skills at basic/intermediate level (able to read technical documents and participate in team discussions).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) chipset bring-up or DPI acceleration on CPE platforms.
- Familiarity with Yocto BSP integration, network automation frameworks, or open-source DPI projects.
- Knowledge of encrypted traffic analysis (TLS/QUIC fingerprinting) and real-time performance profiling.
- Basic understanding of RF principles and Wi-Fi testing tools on CPE devices.
